چکیده
Methods Retrospective analysis of consecutive (2004-2010) patients diagnosed with CMPA (digestive/cutaneous/ respiratory symptoms) in a food allergy reference center (Cohort Arsène,n°DC-2009-955), through a telephone survey (Nov2011–Feb2012). Children were enrolled if having adhered to dietetic recommendations, and fed with ≥500mL/day of AAF (Neocate) or extensive whey hydrolysate-based formula (eWHF, Pepti-Junior) for ≥6mo, starting either before age 6 months (AAF1, eWHF1)), between ages >6 and 12 months (AAF2) or after age 12 (AAF3).

Nutritional adequacy of goat milk infant formulas for term infants: a double-blind randomised controlled trial.
The safety and nutritional adequacy of goat milk infant formulas have been questioned. The primary aim of the present study was to compare the growth and nutritional status of infants fed a goat milk infant formula with those of infants fed a typical whey-based cow milk infant formula. The secondary aim was to examine a range of health- and allergy-related outcomes. A double-blind, randomised c...
متن کاملTwo-Year Morbidity–Mortality and Alternatives to Prolonged Breast-Feeding among Children Born to HIV-Infected Mothers in Côte d'Ivoire
BACKGROUND Little is known about the long-term safety of infant feeding interventions aimed at reducing breast milk HIV transmission in Africa. METHODS AND FINDINGS In 2001-2005, HIV-infected pregnant women having received in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, a peripartum antiretroviral prophylaxis were presented antenatally with infant feeding interventions: either artificial feeding, or exclusive bre...
متن کاملGlycomacropeptide and -lactalbumin supplementation of infant formula affects growth and nutritional status in infant rhesus monkeys1–3
Background: Advances in dairy technology make it possible to enrich infant formula with specific bovine milk components that may enhance nutrient status. Glycomacropeptide, a carbohydrate-rich casein peptide, may increase absorption of calcium, iron, or zinc. -Lactalbumin, a major breast-milk protein, may contribute to a balanced amino acid pattern and increase calcium and zinc absorption. Obje...
متن کاملLipids and infant formulas.
The ultimate goal in the design of infant formula is to achieve the outcome seen in breast fed infants. This review of lipids in infant formulas for term infants begins by referring to the lipid composition of human milk, and relates that to differences in lipid digestion and metabolism which exist between breast fed and formula fed infants and which may significantly influence fatty acid bioav...
متن کاملCharacteristics of allergic colitis in breast-fed infants in the absence of cow's milk allergy.
AIM To investigate the characteristics of mucosal lesions and their relation to laboratory data and long-term follow up in breast-fed infants with allergic colitis. METHODS In this study 31 breast-fed infants were prospectively evaluated (mean age, 17.4 wk) whose rectal bleeding had not ceased after a maternal elimination diet for cow's milk. Thirty-four age-matched and breast-fed infants (me...
